Apple just announced some Flagship games for the iPhone 15 Pro today so we’re going to take a look at them.
Resident Evil Village
Let’s talk about the first game, Resident Evil Village. I think it would work well on mobile devices. The game’s graphics aren’t too complicated, with mostly still backgrounds and small areas to explore.
Capcom and Apple have experience making this game work on Mac, so bringing it to mobile should be easier. It will probably have features like Metal 3, Metal Effects upscaling, and support for controllers, similar to the Mac version.
The Mac version is 34.1 gigabytes, but on iOS, the max file size is around 20 gigabytes. They might make the file smaller using compression and on-demand resources. We’re not sure if it will support ray tracing on the iPhone 15 Pro or if it will be available on other iPhones and iPads.
We also don’t know if it will have customizable graphics or be a universal app like the Mac version. Anyway, I’m looking forward to trying out Resident Evil Village on the iPhone 15 Pro later this year.
Resident Evil 4 Remake
Guess what’s coming to the iPhone 15 Pro? Yep, it’s the Resident Evil 4 remake. You know, since RE-8 made its way to the iPhone 15 Pro, it kind of makes sense for RE4 to follow.
They use the same cool engine, so moving it over probably wasn’t too hard. What blows my mind is that it just came out on the latest game systems and computers. It’s a big, super popular game, and now it’s heading to iPhones. Hopefully, more game creators will do this for iPhones and other Apple devices.
I’m thinking this game will work well with Metal 3 and Metal Effects upscaling. But there are still lots of questions. Will it have fancy ray tracing?
How will they fit this huge 60-gigabyte game into the App Store? And will it be on Macs, other iPhones, and iPads, too? Will you be able to use a controller, and can you change the graphics settings? We’ll find out more about the Resident Evil 4 Remake on iPhone 15 Pro later this year.

Death Stranding
Surprisingly, Death Stranding was only briefly mentioned at the Apple event in September, which was strange. It’s a very big game. Death Stranding was recently announced for the new Apple Silicon Max 2 with Metal 3 support, Metal effects, and controller support.
I think these features should also be available on the iPhone 15 Pro 2. This game is massive, taking up about 69.8 gigabytes on a Mac. It’s really unusual to see games of this size on mobile; the biggest ones so far are Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Genshin Impact.
It’s important to note that the game doesn’t have ray tracing on other platforms yet, so I don’t think it will be on the iPhone 15 Pro. I’m curious to see if the game will have graphical modes like the high frame rate mode that’s coming to Mac.
Death Stranding will be available on iPhone 15 Pro later this year. The next version is confirmed to be released on September 2nd, so maybe it will come out around the same time as the iPhone 15 Pro version.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Guess what? Assassin’s Creed Mirage is making its way to the iPhone 15 Pro! It’s a big deal because it’s the first time a major Assassin’s Creed game will be on mobile right when it’s released on consoles and PCs.
In the past, we had Assassin’s Creed Identity, but that was a fancy mobile game during the Golden Age of mobile gaming. This new one might even have fancy graphics thanks to the A17 Pro’s Hardware Ray Tracing support. It could be one of the first games with this feature on the iPhone 15 Pro.
But don’t get too excited just yet; we’re not totally sure. I’m curious if it will be on Mac and other iPhones and iPads too, and if we’ll get to tweak the graphics.
While Assassin’s Creed Mirage hits consoles and PCs in October 2023, you’ll have to wait until the first half of 2024 to play it on the iPhone 15 Pro. That’s pretty fast for a big game like this to come to mobile! Usually, it takes years.

The Division Resurgence
We’ve known about The Division Resurgence for a while now, and you can pre-order it on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Ubisoft says the A17 Pro helps make the game look better with improved graphics, lighting, and weather effects, making it more realistic.
I’m not very excited about it because it’s free but has annoying microtransactions and ads. It’s not as good as other big games, and it’s a simplified version of The Division, not showing off the best graphics.
I think it would have been better if Ubisoft and Apple worked together to bring The Division 2 instead. Anyway, the Division Resurgence will be out on iPhone and iPad in early 2024 if you’re interested.
My final thoughts?
What do you think about the new games coming to the iPhone 15 Pro? Are you happy or not? It’s an exciting time for playing games on your phone. I’m tired of game makers making simpler versions of their games with bad graphics and annoying free-to-play stuff.
It’s just confusing. Now, we can expect games on our phones to be as good as the ones on game consoles and computers, as they should have been for a long time.
But I don’t think these really good games should only be on the iPhone 15 Pro. I think older iPhones, even as far back as the iPhone XR, can handle these high-quality games. We’ve already seen this with games like No Man’s Sky and older ones like Alien Isolation, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Wreckfest, XCOM 2, and many more.
